Program Information
Title:
Career as a Materials Engineer
Description:
Ted Anderson has been at Marshall Space Flight Center for about 16 months. He currently runs the rapid prototyping lab where he fabricates models, test articles, and parts. He also develops system settings to run different materials and works on material development. What is rapid prototyping? It is a process that uses a three dimensional computer aided drafting model to create a physical part. The part is created from the bottom up using really thin slices (two dimensional cross sections) and stacking all the thin slices on top of each other to create the desired part.
