Wichita Mountains and Wildlife Refuge

The Wichita Mountain range located just northwest of Lawton, Oklahoma is among the oldest on Earth and started formation during the Early Middle Cambrian Times about 550 to 600 million years ago. Join twelve 6th grade students from Kirby Junior High in Wichita Falls, Texas as they teach your students about the formation and history of these mountains and the Wichita Mountain Wildlife Refuge. Students will also learn about the different plant and animal life on the refuge and the importance of preserving it.
